Cloudiness

The cloud cover for each city was recorded as a percentage and was then graphed relative to the city's latitude. Results are found in the scatter plot above.

There a very loose correlation of cloudiness v. latitude. However, there does seem to be a correlation between cloudiness and humidity. As humidity increases, cloudiness increases. This makes sense based on how clouds form. Clouds form due to particulate matter in the air combined with water vapor. Generally, clouds get larger/greater in number with proportional to in humidity (or water vapor in the atmosphere). Assuming a homogeneous mixture of particulate matter in the atmosphere, coupled with the fact that there is greater humidity in the northern hemisphere, it makes sense that there is a higher percentage of observable clouds in the northern hemisphere.
